The last few years has been busy, seeing us complete research contracts for a range of interesting clients. We design, facilitate and carry out research to inform the work of a variety of organisations. We have tried to include a representative range of the work and clients in this blog, take a look if you are interested to find out the sorts of research we have been involved in or led on.

Working with Sandwell Council enabling them to implement our play sufficiency assessment process, through a knowledge transfer partnership with the local authority’s play team (ongoing).

Pre-intervention research at Chester Zoo, investigating people’s existing use of space and children’s play preferences to inform design recommendations.

Evaluating the effect of play interventions at Chester Zoo and making recommendations as to how the zoo may further develop a culture of play.

Working with Dr Wendy Russell and Charlotte Derry (Playful Places) as part of a research team exploring changes in Wales since the introduction of the Welsh Play Sufficiency Duty, funded by Play Wales.

Working with the same research team above to further explore ways in which local authorities can go about securing play sufficiency, funded by Play Wales.

Full local authority play sufficiency assessment for Merthyr Tydfil County Borough Council, including the production of summary version

 

Research with children in a primary and a secondary school exploring and comparing the play experiences of younger and older children to inform Flintshire County Council’s 2019 play sufficiency assessment, funded by Play Wales.

Research with policy leads and strategic decision makers in Wrexham Council to evaluate how well the local authority’s systems have developed to respond to the requirements of the Welsh Play Sufficiency Duty.

Detailed analysis of children’s responses to Wrexham Council’s play sufficiency satisfaction survey to inform the local authority’s 2019 play sufficiency assessment.

Localised play sufficiency assessment of a single electoral ward for Wrexham County Borough Council

Research for Merthyr Tydfil County Borough Council exploring the accessibility of existing staffed out of school provision that has the potential to support disabled children’s play.
